Captain Jon Jepson

Aloha, My name is Capt Jon Jepson. I originally moved from Seattle in the late 80's and have worked in the marine industry since, including windsurfing, scuba diving, surfing, sailing and submarines. From all the different types of vessels I have been exposed to, Makani was born. The concept is different from any other charter sailing boat, combining Grand Prix sailing with charter boat comfort, Makani gives an unforgetable ride.

Makani was built in St Croix by Gold Coast Yachts and myself over a period of 10 months. Once completed, we sailed from St. Croix through the Panama Canal, up the coast of Central America to Mexico, and then on to Hawaii over a period of 2 months. The construction and delivery of Makani remains an unforgetable experience for me and has changed my life forever.

The highlight of my days now is the great crew that have come to work out on the ocean. We look forward to all the guests who come out for a sail with us on Makani....Mahalo!
